The New JAMB Registrar Resumes Office

Professor Ishaq Oloyede has officially resumed as the registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday, August 8.

Oloyede took over from Professor Dibu Ojerinde following the mass sack of 17 education agencies by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Punch reports that Oloyede arrived at JAMB headquarters which is located in Bwari area council of Abuja around 8:00 AM and was warmly received by the outgoing JAMB registrar.

Prior to the new JAMB registrar’s arrival, it was reported that staff at the headquarters exalted Ojerinde for the good work he has done in the board.

Oloyede and his predecessor then proceeded to a close door meeting.

There are reports from those close to information informed Daily Post that a fight between Ojerinde and minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu over the 2016 admission exercise into universities and other tertiary institutions led to the termination of the former’s contract.

And when the post-Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) was scrapped by the minister, it was obvious that trouble was looming.

The president approved the appointment of 17 new chief executives of various parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Education.
