Robbery Suspects Nabbed By NSCDC For Terrorizing Varsity


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on Sunday 19 June 2016, said it had detained two members of a syndicate that specialised in stealing phones and laptops at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).

This was published by Commandant of NSCDC in Borno, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, while speaking with newsmen. According to him, the suspects (names withheld), were arrested in 202 Housing Estate area of Maiduguri.

The Commandant said that the syndicate’s areas of operation were student’s hostels, lecture theatres and places of worship within the institution, noting that two laptops and four mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.

He encouraged all students and lecturers to be vigilant and report any suspicious characters immediately to the law enforcement agents.
